Orange Empire Service Center, (OESC) originally was the service department for Orange Empire Resales.
 
Orange Empire Resales (OER) was a used car sales company that was established over 30 years ago and was in operation for 25 years at 210 W Katella in Orange, Calif. OER had both a sales department and a service department. OER service was there only to perform reconditioning and preparation (recon) work for the automobiles that were purchased by OER sales.
These autos where then moved to the sales lot to be sold.
 
In 2010, Lalo Garcia was hired as the service manager with a goal to open a retail repair center. At the time, OER was performing approximately 90% recon work and 10% retail. OER service was performing some maintenance service only the customers that had purchased autos at that location.
 
Lalo Garcia had the responsibility to raise the retail percentage with a goal of 25% retail and 75% recon. Within two years, the service department was at 40% retail and 60% recon. This was acquired by aggressive belly to belly marketing.
 
In 2013, the owner of OER started considering retirement and was thinking about shutting down the service department in order to focus on the sales department. Lalo Garcia stated to the owner that this perception was a mistake and that raising the service absorption would help the sales department show a better bottom line. Service absorption is where the profits from service department pays the fixed expenses, allowing the sales department to show better profits due to less expenses being charged to them.
 
The owner stated that if Lalo could find an offsite location and secure a lease, he would fund the move so that the service department could continue to grow.  By July of 2013 OER service was at an offsite location and was able to
continue operations. In June of 2014, the owner stated he was going to retire and intended to sell the service department. Lalo Garcia was offered the sale of the business and did what it took to acquire the business. On December 01, 2014, Lalo Garcia was the proud owner of Orange Empire Service Center.
 
Since then, Lalo Garcia has continued its “door to door” marketing in the 5 mile radius of its location and has slowly grown the business.  Orange Empire Service Center will continue its endeavor to grow the business organically, by building relationships with its customers one at a time.
